Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Maine is a community-based nonprofit in the civic and social sector that facilitates long-term, one-to-one mentoring relationships between adult volunteers and youth ages 7 to 18. The organization aims to support children facing adversity by providing consistent, positive role models and ongoing match supervision, with training and resources available to both Bigs and Littles. Serving Cumberland and York Counties in Maine, it is one of more than 300 BBBS agencies affiliated with the national network, operating from its location in Westbrook. The program seeks to improve school engagement, strengthen family and peer relationships, and broaden Littles’ perspectives on what is possible through sustained mentoring.
