Founded in 2016 originally as a luxury leather goods company, Big Murphy's has grown into a luxury custom suit brand as well. Founder Nathan Minnehan, expert leather designer, and visionary has added suits in 2017 pulling from his experience after mentoring with a haberdasher in Portugal in 2015-2016. Big Murphy's now outfits people for the Red Carpet including New York Times bestselling author, and keynote speaker Dr. Greg Reid. 
 Big Murphy's was inspired by Charles W. Murphy, the Rochester criminal defense attorney in the 1920's and 1930's. Murphy was know for being a "Go-To man in his field" and for doing everything with the "waive of a friendly hand rather than the gesture with the sword." He was also know for his "big jobs and important posts in large organizations, big cigars and big cars" all which contributed to his nickname, Big Murphy. 
 The brand strives to highlight threads of his character, and of the character of the architect whose phrase is the brand's slogan. That would be Daniel Burnham of Chicago, the architect that inspired the hosting of the first world's fair in 1893, and who said, "Make No Small Plans for they have no magic to stir one's blood" - Make No Small Plans is the Big Murphy's brand phrase, and borrows from the spirit of the unrivaled courage it took to create such feats as though accomplished by visionaries like Daniel Burnham.
