The Bill of Rights Institute is a non-profit organization focused on civics and history education, based in Arlington, Virginia. Founded in September 1999 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, it maintains a network of more than 70,000 history and civics educators and provides thousands of classroom-ready resources and annual programming for students and teachers. The Institute aims to teach civics and equip learners to live the ideals of a free and just society. In recent years it has expanded its programming through acquisitions and partnerships, including acquiring Incubate Debate in 2024, partnering with Debating Matters in 2026, collaborating with iCivics for the Civic Star Challenge, and launching a middle school curriculum in 2025.
