Birch Creek Service Ranch is a small nonprofit organization operating on an 80-acre ranch near Spring City, Utah, offering rural, character-building experiences for youth through a combination of ranch work, community service, creative projects, and outdoor challenges. As a certified 501(c)(3), it runs summer sessions that accommodate about 30 participants aged 12 to 15, supported by seasonal staff and volunteers, with the aim of fostering values such as integrity, community-mindedness, and perseverance through hands-on service experiences. The program emphasizes learning through doing—helping neighbors with tasks like yard work or hay stacking—while engaging participants in discussions about the consequences of actions and personal growth via challenging activities in outdoor settings. Established in 2002 to build on a regional ranch tradition, the organization draws on generations of participants linked to the Bennion Teton Boys Ranch lineage to sustain its mission in a rural, experiential context.
