Birkitt Environmental Services, Inc. (Birkitt) was formed in 1996 and provides environmental services, project management, and permitting and certification assistance for projects throughout Florida and the southeastern United States.  Birkitt professionals have many years of experience in, wetlands, wildlife, and water quality studies; preparation of Environmental Assessments (EA) and Environmental Impact Statements (EIS); permitting/certification, mitigation design, construction implementation; and monitoring on a wide range of projects for various public and private clients. Birkitt staff effectively use their expertise in coastal, freshwater, estuarine and terrestrial systems, and an in-depth knowledge of environmental regulatory processes for projects throughout Florida.  Comprehensive technical experience coupled with specialization in innovative and strategic approaches to expedite permitting and other regulatory processes makes Birkitt uniquely capable to provide environmental consulting services to a wide variety of clients.  

Birkitt has a staff of scientists and environmental professionals with degrees in environmental science, planning, ecology, natural resources, marine ecology, and geography.  In addition, a select group of contract employees are available when needed.

Birkitt is certified as a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) under the Statewide and Inter-Local Minority Business Enterprise program and has been certified as a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) as well as a certified Small Business Enterprise (SBE) with local governments.
