The mission of Bishop Anderson House is to advance healing by ministering to the sick and to those who care for them.

We provide pastoral care by visiting the sick in hospitals and training volunteers who serve the sick in hospitals, nursing homes, congregations, hospice programs, and in other institutions. Bishop Anderson House is ecumenical, serving over 10,000 people annually from every religious tradition.

Bishop Anderson House serves as a crossroads of faith and science by teaching ethics in a medical school; collaborating with psychologists, chaplains, epidemiologists and physicians in the integration of spirituality and medicine; and by contributing to the field of research in this area. Our ministry includes lay volunteer chaplain training, pastoral care for women in trauma, ministry to the elderly, providing sick children with teddy bears, advocating for the uninsured, and promoting ethics and spirituality in medicine.
