The Bismarck-Mandan Development Association (BMDA) is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 public-private partnership.  Formed in 1980 as the Bismarck Development Association, the organization first focused on the revitalization and redevelopment of downtown Bismarck.  The scope of the BMDA grew as the City of Bismarck, Burleigh County, the CIty of Mandan, and Morton County partnered with the organization to provide economic development to two-county area.
 
The BMDA's efforts and focus has changed over the years as the needs of the community have changed.  The constant in the Bismarck-Mandan Development Association's efforts is the desire to make Bismarck-Mandan and the surrounding area the best it can be, and the community of choice.
