Since its 1997 founding, Biz 3 has grown from a humble solo operation based out of owner Kathryn Frazier's Chicago apartment into one of the top taste-making companies in the industry-still in Frazier’s home only occupying it’s own floor now! Today the Biz 3 team of national publicists tirelessly works to promote its diverse roster of over 80 bands, rappers, authors, filmmakers and visual artists. To quote URB Magazine, Biz 3 is "arguably the most prevalent PR firm in independent music today."

How has the firm earned its formidable reputation? In the words of long time Biz 3 artist Prefuse 73 in a recent magazine article, by "helping blow artists up that would have never had the chance." The Biz 3 team is known for working with artists they believe in, and transforming relative unknowns into critical darlings. It is their passion for the artists they work with that allows Frazier and her team to get their clients on the covers of magazines, featured in large national publications, and performing on national television shows.

In recent years, Biz 3's client base has expanded to include key press for film and DVD projects, books, websites, new media ventures, festivals, and parties.

Kathryn Frazier also does A&R consulting for hip-hop mogul Steve Rifkind /SRC/LOUD and is on the management team for the iconic R&B/Soul/Dance renegade the world knows as Kelis.
