The Black Economic Council of Massachusetts, Inc. (BECMA) is a nonprofit organization focused on advancing economic equity for Black communities in Massachusetts, based in Boston. It pursues inclusive growth through advocacy, programming, and strategic partnerships designed to help Black-owned businesses and Black communities thrive. Operating within the civic and social sector, BECMA is a small to midsized entity serving the Massachusetts market. In April 2026, BECMA hosted its inaugural Vanguard Awards Ceremony, expanding its platform to recognize and engage stakeholders in the state’s Black economic ecosystem. The organization has pursued policy-oriented initiatives since 2021 with the MA BlackAgenda and maintains active community engagement through events such as the Mass Black Expo, where its leadership participated in 2024.
