The Black United Fund of Oregon's mission is to assist in the social and economic development of Oregon's underserved communities and to contribute to a broader understanding of ethnic and culturally diverse groups. 

Since 1983, the Black United Fund of Oregon (BUF) has worked to combat discrepancies underserved communities of color by supporting other grassroots nonprofit organizations with funding, and providing educational services to students.
