Blue Mountain Land Trust is an environmental services organization based in Walla Walla, Washington, founded in 1999. It operates as a nationally accredited land trust focused on protecting the Blue Mountain region’s scenic, natural, and working lands through conservation and stewardship, with an emphasis on clean water, open spaces, habitat, soils, and agricultural livelihoods. The organization acquires conservation easements and a limited amount of fee-title property to safeguard more than 23,000 acres, and it engages communities through education and recreation to connect people with the land. Its work supports agricultural heritage, native fish spawning streams, wildlife corridors, and longer-term community resilience across southeastern Washington and eastern Oregon. In recent years, BMLT has pursued collaborations that advance habitat protection and trail accessibility, including partnerships with local organizations and tribes to secure protected land and restore outdoor resources for nearby communities.
