Blue Skies Exploration Academy is the only free-standing Reggio Emilia influenced early learning center in Colorado Springs. Along with its sister center, Creekside Kids, Blue Skies offers to the Pikes Peak region a modern, reflective way of teaching and interacting with young children, combining the best qualities of Play-Based, Waldorf and Montessori methods into a socially and environmentally connected learning community. Blue Skies has a strong focus on scientific investigation and encourages children to explore the world around them by asking questions, testing predictions, and evaluating results. As one of only a few centers with a dedicated art studio, Blue Skies offers students many opportunities to express themselves using a variety of materials and media. Realizing that children's bodies must be nurtured as much as their minds, Blue Skies serves only whole foods with zero trans-fats and no high fructose corn syrup. Students are offered milk and fruit with every meal, and organic or locally grown food is used whenever possible or practical. Blue Skies Exploration Academy offers children a place to grow into strong and confident lifelong learners.
