The Blue Whiskey Independent Film Festival is a small not-for-profit organization based in the greater Chicagoland area, headquartered in Palatine, Illinois. It prioritizes showcasing independent, character-driven cinema created without major studio backing, seeking out filmmakers who bring fresh storytelling to the screen. Each festival edition screens selected films in a single theater over eight days, with judges experiencing the films alongside audiences and hosting live Q&As; accepted feature films receive two festival passes, while shorts, music videos, and series pilots receive one. In addition to the summer festival, the organization runs year-round programming such as screenings, networking events, and roundtables to connect creators with audiences. In 2024 the festival earned the Blue Glass Award for best documentary feature, and it launched a 2024 apparel campaign online.
