Bent introduced wooden silos as a novel way to store and dry crops, quickly gaining popularity among Danish farmers. As demand grew, BM Silo expanded beyond Denmark into German and Swedish markets, where it remains trusted by some of its earliest customers today.

Bent Martinsen introduced the unique Kit-form packaging concept early on, allowing up to 40 silos to fit in a single 40-foot container. This approach not only reduces shipping costs but also minimizes CO2 emissions per silo by about 90% compared to preassembled units.
