Bonefish & Tarpon Trust is a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting bonefish, tarpon and permit, as well as their habitats and the broader fisheries they support. It pursues science-driven conservation through research, education and advocacy. The group originated in 1997 when grassroots volunteers in the Florida Keys sought to reverse declines in bonefish and tarpon, and it now operates a robust program in the Keys with expanded reach into the Caribbean, including The Bahamas, Belize and Mexico, along with grant-funded work in Cuba and other locations. Headquartered in Miami, the organization runs a compact, mission-focused staff. In November 2025, Bajío Sunglasses partnered with BTT to support preservation of critical coastal habitats through its Temples of Change program.
