Boston Teacher Residency is a nationally recognized clinical program preparing teachers who enable student achievement from day one of teaching, and stay in the field, continually improving their practice.  We recruit talented college graduates, career changers and community members of all ages and gives them the tools to make an immediate impact in the classrooms of the Boston Public Schools (BPS). Combining a yearlong classroom apprenticeship with targeted master’s-level coursework, the program offers much more than just an affordable route into teaching. BTR provides every resident with the practical learning, hands-on experience and ongoing support essential to any successful career in teaching.

Program Highlights
•	Earn a low-cost M.Ed. granted by UMass Boston and MA Initial Teacher License
•	Co-teach in a collaborative and supportive teaching and learning environment 
•	Participate in continued professional development as a graduate of our program, earn dual license in Special Education or English as a Second Language
•	Receive an AmeriCorps living stipend and health benefits
•	Eligible to earn an AmeriCorps Education Award that can be applied toward UMass tuition and fees
