The Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence is a civic and social organization based in Lawrence, Massachusetts, with a long-standing focus on youth development in the Merrimack Valley. It operates as a provider of after-school programming and supportive services for young people from economically and socially disadvantaged backgrounds, aiming to help them acquire skills and become productive members of society. Serving a large local community, the organization positions itself as a safe, out-of-school space that addresses gaps in access to enrichment and guidance for youths in one of the region’s poorest cities. In addition to its on-site programs, the club engages with the broader community through local partnerships and events, evidenced by recent activities such as its annual fundraising auction and collaborations that extend support to students across a wider area. The organization has a long history, having operated for over a century, and situates itself as a key provider of after-school programming in its area while pursuing a mission to enable Greater Lawrence’s young people to reach their full potential as responsible citizens.
