Founded in 1999 in response to the Columbine tragedy, the Boys & Girls Club of Malibu is a nonprofit organization focused on youth development in Malibu, California. It provides mentoring and after-school programs for middle and high school students, helping them build confidence and form positive relationships during critical decision-making years. The club later expanded to elementary campuses and opened a Wellness Center offering no-cost wellness and counseling for K-12 students and families, reflecting a broader commitment to well-being and support. It serves a diverse community, including children from low-income families who commute to Malibu, addressing issues such as isolation, bullying, and healthy life choices through student-centered activities. Each year the organization serves approximately 1,200 youths, underscoring its role as a stable community resource over many years. In early 2026, BGCM participated in the 21st Annual Youth of the Year competition, reflecting ongoing engagement with youth leadership programs.
