Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington is a nonprofit organization delivering youth development programs across the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. The network includes 18 clubs, one outreach site, and three satellite sites spanning roughly 75 miles from Fredericksburg, Virginia to Germantown, Maryland, plus a residential summer camp in Southern Maryland. Its mission is to help boys and girls of all backgrounds, especially those who need support most, build confidence, develop character, and acquire the skills needed to become productive, civic-minded, responsible adults. The organization traces its roots to 1886, starting as the Newsboys and Children's Aid Society, later evolving into Boys Clubs of Washington, and adopting the current name in 1981. Recent partnerships include a 2024 collaboration with CohnReznick LLP to provide hands-on professional development experiences for BGCGW teens and young adults as they enter the workforce.
