The Boys & Girls Clubs of North Alabama (BGCNAL) is a small nonprofit organization that operates 15 youth clubs in North Alabama to provide developmental programs for young people. Through its clubs, it offers a safe environment with caring adults that supports children in completing homework, teens researching colleges or planning service projects, and members engaging in physical activity. Programs are organized around five focus areas—Character and Leadership Development; Education and Career Development; Health and Life Skills; The Arts; and Sports, Fitness and Recreation—with outcomes centered on academic success, character and citizenship, and healthy lifestyles. The organization emphasizes helping youth, especially those who need it most, reach their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens. Based in Huntsville, Alabama, the organization has operated since 1938 and is part of the national Boys & Girls Clubs of America network. In May 2026, BGCNAL expanded to Scottsboro with the Ben Sanford Multipurpose Facility, reflecting ongoing growth of its local presence.
