Our Mission as a Youth Nonprofit Organization: To empower all young people, especially those who need us most, to discover their full potential as caring, engaged, responsible community members. About Us: For over 70 years, Boys & Girls Clubs of Portland Metro has provided our community with youth development services and opportunities for great futures. At our 10 Club locations across the Portland Metropolitan area, we strive to empower youth to become future leaders through engaging, enriching afterschool and summer programs. We offer academic support, a no-cost food program, cutting-edge technology training, sports clinics, career development, internship opportunities and assist youth and families with accessing needed community resources, along with so much more. When a child comes into one of our Clubs, they may not have had an opportunity to discover what they really love. Perhaps a family member just wanted to give them a place to be active, but the Club provides much more than that – a place to for a child to discover mentors, experiences, and activities that can broaden their mind and shape the person they become. Whether they develop a love for football, create a lasting friendship, build a prize-winning science project, experiment with podcasting, or find a quiet space to meditate and calm down, the Club allows youth to identify and develop their passions and gives them a safe place to express themselves. By providing a Club experience that encourages diversity, collaboration and respect, The Boys & Girls Clubs of Portland Metro enables youth to successfully maneuver the obstacles in their lives and grow up to become adults equipped to make a difference in our society.
