Maisel & Friends have been brewing beer specialties of the highest quality for over 130 years and are among the pioneers of the modern beer scene in Germany. They are known for their creative brewing skills and exceptional beers, proving that beer brewed according to the Bavarian Purity Law can also be incredibly diverse and complex. With their variety of beers, Maisel & Friends cater to their customers’ desires for unusual flavors, all the while ensuring that the beers are not too extreme within their respective styles (this refers to both moderate alcohol content and not using too many hops).
The Maisel & Friends brewery is a magnet for beer lovers from all over the world. Nowhere else can the brewery’s specialty beers and attention to detail be better experienced in Bayreuth. The heart of the brewery is the main building, dating back to the founding year of 1887, which can be explored as part of an impressive tour. In addition to touring the historic brewery, visitors can watch the Maisel & Friends brewmasters at work every day or take part in a seminar with a beer sommelier. Guests can also experience concerts, buy beer-related souvenirs in the beer store, or organize a private or business event in one of the many rooms with an incomparable atmosphere.
Right next door, the Crazy Sheep coffee manufactory roasts fresh coffee, and beer lovers can indulge in the modern Liebesbier restaurant, where they can choose from 100 different types of beer from all over the world. Modern street art is found amidst traditional materials such as leather, steel, and wood, providing a glimpse of old craftsmanship. Art also plays an important role in the Liebesbier Urban Art Hotel, opening in January 2022, where over 50 world-renowned street artists have individually designed each room in the hotel.
