Brehm Preparatory School, Inc. is a small, nonprofit, coeducational boarding school located in Carbondale, Illinois, that serves students with learning disabilities or differences. It is fully accredited and operates two related programs: the core junior high and high school on its campus and OPTIONS Transitions to Independence, a separate program focused on transition beyond high school. The school emphasizes an individualized, holistic education approach, guided by an Individualized Holistic Education Plan that integrates cognitive, academic, social, and behavioral development. To provide the level of attention needed, the organization maintains a limited student body across its programs.

Founded in 1982, Brehm Preparatory School seeks to empower students to become self-advocates and independent learners who can succeed academically, pursue fulfilling careers, and maintain balanced lives. The OPTIONS Transitions to Independence program complements the core school by supporting students as they navigate transitions after high school, reinforcing the broader goal of lifelong independence.
