BRITDOC is a small nonprofit founded in 2005 that aims to enable strong documentary films and connect them with audiences worldwide. Based in London and New York, it collaborates with filmmakers and partners across the globe, and has organized Good Pitch events in cities including New York, London, San Francisco, Chicago, Nairobi, Mumbai, Buenos Aires and Jakarta. It supports projects through grants and a suite of activities—training, knowledge sharing, brokered partnerships and audience development—having contributed to producing more than 200 films, including Citizenfour, Virunga and Dirty Wars. The organization aims to adapt to a rapidly changing media landscape by working with filmmakers and partner organizations to find new routes for impactful social-issue documentaries. Its work is supported by partners including Ford Foundation, Bertha Foundation, and the BBC.
