British Cycling is the national governing body for cycling, recognized by the UCI. Based in Manchester at the National Cycling Centre, it oversees six disciplines—BMX, Mountain Bike, Cyclo-Cross, Road, Track and Cycle Speedway—spanning participation from first-timers to the Great Britain Cycling Team. Its ongoing success at the highest levels has coincided with a rise in participation across the nation and it also advocates on road safety and cyclists' interests. As a membership organization, it counts around 130,000 members who receive benefits and support, with all membership revenue reinvested into cycling. In 2026, leadership appointments were announced, including Claire Humphris as Chief Marketing Officer and James Glover as Head of Business Development.
