The British Metals Recycling Association (BMRA) functions as the trade association for the United Kingdom's metal recycling sector. It represents a £7 billion industry and emphasizes supplying environmentally friendly raw materials to metals manufacturers. As a member-driven organization, it provides guidance on technical, regulatory, legislative and environmental issues. BMRA counts around 300 member organizations that trade and process steel, aluminium, copper, and other ferrous and non-ferrous metals, and they recycle a wide range of related products such as end-of-life vehicles, packaging, batteries, domestic appliances, building materials, and electronic goods. Collectively, these members process more than 13 million tonnes per year, representing over 95% of the metallic scrap in the UK, and export roughly 60% of their output to companies worldwide. The association is based in Huntingdon, England.
