A pioneering advocate for cultural equity, the Bronx Council on the Arts nurtures the development of a diverse array of artists and arts organizations, and builds strong cultural connections in and beyond The Bronx.

In its 2018 grant-making cycle, the Bronx Council on the Arts has awarded $227,215 to 60 grantees through its Community Engagement Grants program, supported by funding from the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) and the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs (DCLA).The Bronx Council on the Arts acknowledges the work of thirty-five (35) Bronx artists with its 2018 Bronx Recognizes Its Own (BRIO) Awards.BRIO awards have leveraged the careers of hundreds of Bronx artists in its 29-year existence. BCA will distribute a total of $140,000 in 2018.
