The Bronx River Alliance is an environmental services organization based in the Bronx, New York, focused on protecting, improving, and restoring the Bronx River corridor and Greenway as ecological, recreational, educational, and economic resources for surrounding communities. Its work is organized around an Ecology Team that conducts policy, planning, fieldwork, and conservation with a full-time crew and community volunteers, and a Greenway Team that guides the planning and development of a continuous bike and pedestrian path along the river from the East River to Kensico Dam. The organization also runs an Education Program to connect teachers, students, and scientists with hands-on river learning, and an Outreach Program that promotes community engagement and events such as river festivals and flotillas, along with a Recreation Program that coordinates bike and canoe activities for the public. Serving a urban watershed and public lands context, the Alliance collaborates with scientists, regulatory agencies, and community groups to address river health, community engagement, and coastal resiliency in the Bronx.
