Bruce Power is a Canadian utilities company that operates nuclear power generation at a 2,300-acre site on the shores of Lake Huron near Tiverton, Ontario, housing the Bruce A and Bruce B generating stations, each with four CANDU reactors. Over the past decade, Bruce Power refurbished all four units at Bruce A, returning 3,000 megawatts of electricity to Ontario consumers, and together with the Bruce B units the facility has a capacity of 6,400 megawatts. The operation provides about 30% of Ontario's electricity at roughly 30% less than the average residential price. Bruce Power is an all-Canadian partnership owned by TransCanada Corp., Borealis Infrastructure (a trust established by the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System), the Power Workers' Union, and the Society of Energy Professionals, with a majority of employees also owners of the business.
