Ecopower is a renewable energy cooperative based in Rotselaar, Flanders, Belgium. It aims to expand local, citizen-owned renewable energy production and promote energy efficiency within a decentralized, democratic, 100% renewable system, with residents participating as partners. The cooperative owns and invests in wind, solar, and small hydro projects, sharing the generated electricity with members who are also customers, and it had more than 72,000 members by the end of 2024. Founded in 1991, Ecopower built its first community wind turbines in 2001 and began supplying electricity in 2003 after liberalization; it supports district heating and helped establish REScoop Vlaanderen and REScoop Europe, and is a founding member of Coopkracht vzw.
