Byrd Cookie Company is a Savannah-based producer in the food and beverage manufacturing sector that specializes in gourmet cookies, savory cheese biscuits, and southern-style condiments sold under the Byrd Basics line. Founded in 1924 by Ben T. Byrd, Sr., the business began with handcrafted cookies delivered to Savannah stores in a Model-T Ford, an origin that underpins its long-standing local presence. The company has earned awards recognizing the quality of its products and packaging within the specialty foods industry. With a small to mid-sized operation profile, Byrd Cookie Company remains based in Savannah, Georgia, and expanded its footprint beyond the state with a Charleston retail location opened in 2018, its first foray outside Georgia.
