C-SPAN is a private, non-profit broadcast media production and distribution organization based in the United States, founded in 1979 by the cable television industry to provide public access to the political process. The organization operates without government funding, and its programming is funded by fees paid by cable and satellite affiliates that carry C-SPAN. It produces and distributes public affairs content and employs between 201 and 500 people. In 2025–2026, C-SPAN expanded its distribution through partnerships with YouTube and Hulu + Live TV and announced a collaboration with Delmarva Public Media to bring C-SPAN programming to public radio. It also launched a 15-month training and professional development program for early-career journalists in 2025. Its website is https://c-span.org.
