Cablevey Conveyors by Akona is a family-owned automation machinery manufacturer based in Oskaloosa, Iowa, founded in 1971 to serve the agricultural sector, especially grain and seed handling. Its industrial conveying systems use a cable-and-disc tubular design that moves materials through an enclosed tube without relying on air, replacing bucket elevators, screw conveyors, and pneumatic systems. The systems accommodate multiple inlets and discharges, run at about 100 feet per minute, and come in 2-, 4-, and 6-inch sizes with capacities up to 1,240 cubic feet per hour. Cablevey serves a wide range of industries beyond agriculture, including food processing, coffee, pet food, cereal, tea, chemical, plastic, paper, wastewater, petrochemical, wood, soap, and pulp, and operates in more than 65 countries. In 2024 the company expanded its international footprint with a new facility in Darwen, Lancashire, United Kingdom.
