California Coastkeeper Alliance is a public policy organization focused on protecting California’s water, oceans, and coastal resources. Founded in 1999, it emphasizes that clean water and healthy watersheds underpin the state’s economy, public health, and way of life, and pursues these goals through law, policy, science, and media.

Based in Sacramento, the organization operates with a small team and seeks to influence statewide policies and programs that safeguard water quality. In May 2025, it announced a collaborative alliance with Pebble Beach Company, The Otter Project, and Monterey Waterkeeper to protect Carmel Bay.
