Insights

Advanced Wind Technology California Energy & Power has developed proprietary vertical axis wind turbines with a patented Wind Concentrator technology that significantly increases power output by 400%. This innovative approach offers a scalable, efficient renewable energy solution suitable for niche markets and distributed generation, presenting opportunities to supply high-performance turbines to utility companies, independent developers, and niche energy providers.

Strategic Partnerships Recent collaborations with Caltech and Hansei Corporation demonstrate the company's focus on validating technology and integrating complementary renewable sources like solar with wind. These partnerships highlight potential avenues for joint projects, technology licensing, and hybrid energy solutions, appealing to entities looking to maximize renewable output while minimizing land and infrastructure footprints.

Market Focus on Island and Microgrids The company's initial emphasis on providing renewable energy to island states and areas unsuitable for large wind turbines opens opportunities to introduce compact, wildlife-friendly turbines to remote communities, microgrid projects, and off-grid applications, especially where existing large-scale solutions are impractical or too costly.

Innovation and Future Products With ongoing development of smaller capacity systems and pending US patents, California Energy & Power is poised to expand its product lineup targeting diverse applications, from small-scale residences to community microgrids, creating opportunities for equipment sales and licensing in both residential and commercial sectors.

Growing Revenue Potential With revenues estimated between one and ten million dollars, and a focus on licensing and partnerships, there is significant sales potential for distributors, integrators, and OEM partners seeking innovative, efficient wind solutions to address niche markets and complement existing renewable portfolios.

California Energy & Power was established in 2005 for the purpose of developing and commercializing a new technology for vertical axis wind turbines. Since that time, we have developed an efficient aerospace-designed vertical wind turbine, the CAL-E-POWER-10K. We are building worldwide licensing and partnering platform from which the CAL-E-POWER 10K wind turbine, concentrator technologies, and related products can be sold. We are first focused on providing renewable energy to the largest users of fossil fuels in island states, initially in Hawaii. Our vertical wind turbine will provide an efficient and commercially attractive energy solution in a large variety of environments where distributed energy production is appropriate. We are specializing in a niche for distributed electrical generation in an industry that is wide open – it includes areas with good wind resources that are unsuitable for large wind turbines, but have too large an energy demand for small wind turbines. However, this will not preclude us from deploying in other areas – including, for example, boosting power in transmission lines to compensate for line losses in large-scale wind farms and along high-voltage power lines.

By utilizing modular construction and lightweight manufacturing, our turbines will be designed to satisfy a wide range of power goals. The “Wind Concentrator” technology included with our turbines effectively increases the power produced by the turbine by 400%, as compared to the power produced by the turbine without the Wind Concentrator technology. With this configuration customers realize many benefits from this clean renewable energy source, including low maintenance costs, in a scalable, wildlife-friendly, and aesthetically pleasing turbine. Our U.S. patent application on our 10 kW design is currently pending. We are also working on designs for 500 watt, 1 KW and 5 KW systems, for development at a future time.
