Founded in 2016, the California Energy Alliance is a small, non-profit, non-partisan coalition based in Sacramento. It brings together business, government, and NGO leaders to promote energy productivity as a path to economic growth, environmental justice, energy security, affordability, and resilience. The organization conducts advocacy, outreach, and research to influence codes, standards, and policy governing energy use in the built environment. Its work targets policymakers and other stakeholders across public and private sectors, aiming to inform and shape energy-related decision-making. In 2021, the alliance formed a partnership with CalPlug to study outdoor lighting and plug-load energy usage, reflecting its collaborative approach to researching energy efficiency opportunities.
