California ReLeaf is a Sacramento-based environmental services organization focused on urban and community forests in California. Founded in 1989, it works to empower grassroots efforts and build partnerships that preserve and enhance the state’s trees and vegetation by promoting planting, care, and environmental education.

It acts as a statewide hub for community-based urban forestry groups, coordinating information and resources and maintaining a broad view of trends, needs, and opportunities. By enabling local organizations to implement tree planting and care initiatives in urban and suburban settings, it supports livable neighborhoods and public spaces. In March 2025, Blue Shield of California partnered with California ReLeaf for a Woodland tree-planting event as part of Arbor Week.
