California Waste Services began as a roll-off dumpster hauling firm and soon expanded into recycling construction and demolition waste in response to AB939, which set a goal to divert waste from landfills. Following the legislation, the company acted swiftly to integrate recycling into its operations and opened the first C&D processing facility in Southern Los Angeles County in 2000. The Gardena/Harbor Gateway site houses the corporate offices, maintenance facility, and equipment storage, reflecting an integrated approach to waste management. In 2022, the firm added a public dump location in downtown Los Angeles, broadening access to its services. Based in Gardena, California, the company operates in the environmental services sector, serving customers who generate construction and demolition waste and seek compliant disposal alongside recycling to meet regulatory diversion goals.
