California Western School of Law is an independent higher-education institution in San Diego that trains lawyers to approach the practice of law with collaborative, ethical problem-solving. For more than 90 years, the school has prepared graduates dedicated to improving the lives of clients and the quality of the legal system. Founded in 1924, it is based in San Diego and has been accredited by the American Bar Association since 1962 and affiliated with the Association of American Law Schools since 1967. The curriculum includes the JD and several joint-degree options, such as JD/MBA, JD/PhD, JD/MSW, and MAS in Health Law. Students may pursue concentrations across fields such as business law, criminal justice, health law and policy, intellectual property, international law, and labor and employment. The law school's clinical programs—the California Innocence Project, Access to Law Initiative, Community Law Projects, Mediation Clinic, New Media Rights, and Trademark Law Clinic, among others—provide practical experience aimed at expanding access to justice.
