Campus Crusade for Christ, known in the United States as Cru, is a religious organization based in Orlando, Florida, with 5,001 to 10,000 employees. It was founded in 1951 at the University of California, Los Angeles by Bill and Vonette Bright to reach college students who would help spread the gospel globally. Over time it has developed into one of the world's largest international Christian ministries, engaging college and high school students, faculty, urban and inner-city communities, the military, athletes, and leaders in politics and business, as well as families and diverse cultures, including groups not yet reached by the gospel in their own languages. Its outreach spans education, community life, the military, athletes, and leadership across various populations, and in the United States it operates under the Cru name. Recent press reports indicate Cru is partnering with organizations such as Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Alpha USA, and I Am Second to equip about 100,000 individuals and 10,000 churches to engage in this cultural moment.
