CMCC was founded in 1945 by chiropractors who envisioned a strong curriculum for future students with accompanying research to further the scientific understanding of the profession. Today CMCC graduates are recognized worldwide for their diagnostic and treatment skills, earned through four years of rigorous academic and practical clinical preparation leading to a Doctor of Chiropractic Degree. A strong focus on research continues to advance our knowledge of the body, enhancing the curriculum and improving patient care through the development of best practices. Students are encouraged to develop an interest and understanding of research and may work under the supervision of internationally recognized faculty to investigate one of several scientific areas. CMCC houses specialized laboratories to conduct investigations into the areas of biomechanics, neurophysiology, cellular and molecular biology, among other disciplines. In 2010, CMCC welcomed a Simulation Laboratory to help students fine tune their treatment techniques and practice diagnostic skills on simulated patients. CMCC is the first chiropractic program in North America to use and incorporate this technology into its curriculum.CMCC operates five chiropractic clinics open to the public within the greater Toronto area. Year IV interns complete the final stage in their program through the clinical program under the supervision of a CMCC clinician, many of whom are specialists in their field.
