The Canadian Renewable Energy Association (CanREA) is a national industry group that represents wind, solar, and energy storage in Canada, with a focus on enabling a net-zero electricity system. Its membership comprises more than 300 diverse organizations, collectively voicing support for clean, low-cost, reliable, flexible, and scalable energy solutions. Based in Ottawa, Ontario, CanREA pursues its objectives through stakeholder advocacy and public engagement to foster a modernized and decarbonized electricity grid. In December 2025, CanREA launched Wind & Solar BC and appointed Mike de Jong, a longtime British Columbia legislator and former cabinet minister, as ambassador for the initiative to promote regional information sharing and community dialogue about upcoming projects. The organization has also strengthened its policy development and government relations function through executive leadership changes, reflecting an active role in shaping Canada's evolving electricity sector.
