Cancer Council is the only charity to work across every area of every cancer, from research to prevention and support. We help people from the point of diagnosis through to treatment and survivorship.

Every day at Cancer Council SA, we: 

•	Support families impacted by cancer when they need it most, with practical, emotional and financial support. Last year, we helped over 46,000 people get the support they need through our 13 11 20 information and support line.

•	Speak up on your behalf, calling on our government to make positive changes to create cancer free communities. South Australia now has its lowest smoking rate ever recorded, at just 14.9 per cent. 

•	Empower you to stay SunSmart, keep healthy, stay vigilant and minimise your cancer risk, because we know that one in three cancer cases can be prevented through positive lifestyle change. 

•	Fund over 200 research initiatives as part of the Beat Cancer Project, exploring new ways to better detect and treat cancer. Over the past 20 years, we’ve seen over 61,000 Australian lives saved thanks to improvements in cancer screening, prevention and treatment.
