The Cancer Support Community San Francisco Bay Area is a nonprofit organization in health and human services that provides free, comprehensive support services for people affected by cancer, including counseling, support groups, nutrition and exercise guidance, emergency financial assistance, and patient education. Services are accessible in person at Walnut Creek and Antioch centers and online in English and Spanish. Based in Walnut Creek in the San Francisco Bay Area, it operates as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. It serves cancer patients and their families, helping them engage with their treatment teams to manage treatment and improve health outcomes and quality of life. In 2023, CSC San Francisco Bay Area and BASS Cancer Center partnered to develop an automated patient screening process to identify patients at increased risk of depression, anxiety, and stress and refer them to free mental health services.
