Capaces Leadership Institute is a nonprofit organization based in Woodburn, Oregon. It seeks to strengthen wellness, capacity, and political consciousness among individuals, organizations, movements, and communities to eliminate social disparities. Its guiding values include Holistic Wellness, Fluidity, Tequio (collectivism and community giving back), and El Espiritu de la Abuela (the spirit of the grandmother).

The institute serves a broad audience aiming for social equity and active civic participation, with programs designed to empower Latinx communities and other stakeholders to engage in leadership and decision-making. In early 2018, Capaces launched People’s Representatives, a bilingual leadership development initiative operating in Marion and Polk Counties, designed to prepare social-justice-minded Latinxs to pursue appointed or elected office or volunteer on committees.
