The Capital Regional District is a regional government authority based in Victoria, British Columbia, providing services across 13 municipalities and three electoral areas on southern Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands. It is governed by a 24-member Board of Directors and collaborates with First Nations and other government partners to plan and deliver sustainable growth, foster community well-being, and develop cost-effective infrastructure while maintaining core services for residents. Operating within the government administration sector, the district coordinates regional and local services to meet the needs of its diverse communities.

In April 2025, the CRD announced the launch of updated district websites, reflecting ongoing digital service improvements. Its recent activities include a Grow Forward Grant pilot for the arts, park upgrades at East Sooke, a Rural Housing Program pilot, and waste-management studies and surveys aimed at understanding and improving waste reduction practices.
