Cardinal is a land conservancy in Southwest Ohio whose mission is to preserve natural habitats, waterways, agricultural lands, and open space across the Tri-state area. This work is not just about preserving land; this work is actively creating a sustainable, healthier, and more connected future for all. Every acre we protect, every farm we support, and every natural space we open up is a step toward a resilient tomorrow. 

Formed in 2015 through the merger of three land trusts, Cardinal acquires conservation interests in real properties which it then monitors and stewards in perpetuity.  We know that protecting Ohio Valley’s land assets is a legacy worth building - our forests, farms, and fields are irreplaceable, and our natural green spaces are critical places to unwind, recharge, and reap the benefits of nature.
