The Carinthia University of Applied Sciences, located in Villach in the Carinthia region of Austria, is a higher education institution founded in 1995. It began with two programs and about 70 students and has since expanded to 34 study programs enrolling nearly 2,000 full- and part-time students. As a mid-sized institution, CUAS prioritizes the ongoing development of its degree offerings through close cooperation with business and science to keep education aligned with industry needs, spanning civil engineering and architecture, engineering, management, healthcare and social issues. In August 2025, it announced the TECH Scholarship 2026 to support technology-focused students and innovation in Carinthia. The university also participates in regional and national initiatives, such as the WiDS Villach conference in 2024 and the Austria-wide Matura project competition launched in 2022.
