Carpenter's Shelter, founded in 1988, offers supportive services to over 1,000 homeless and formerly homeless men, women, and children each year. Our mission is to end and prevent homelessness through services, education, and advocacy. Carpenter's Shelter operates an 80-bed residential shelter, a day shelter for chronically homeless adults, an overnight winter shelter, transitional housing services, an Aftercare program providing supportive services to formerly homeless clients, and an Education fund that helps clients advance their education and career. Through our programs, we work with our clients at all stages of homelessness to ensure that 90% of our clients never become homeless again.
