Carpenter's Shelter is a nonprofit organization in the field of individual and family services, based in Alexandria, Virginia, and founded in 1988. It administers a range of programs to assist people experiencing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless, including an 80-bed residential shelter, a day shelter for chronically homeless adults, an overnight winter shelter, transitional housing services, an Aftercare program for formerly homeless clients, and an Education Fund to support education and career advancement. These services collectively reach more than 1,000 homeless and formerly homeless men, women, and children each year, with a goal that roughly 90% of clients do not return to homelessness. 

Located in the Northern Virginia region, Carpenter's Shelter has earned regional recognition through multiple awards reflecting nonprofit leadership and redevelopment. Awards include the 2015 Best Nonprofit Award from the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce, the 2020 David Bradt Leadership Award from the Greater Washington Community Foundation, and the 2020 Best Real Estate Redevelopment Award from the Washington Business Journal. In March 2026, the organization named Wanda Pierce as Interim Executive Director.
