Carthage College combines an environment of reflection and self-discovery with a culture of high expectation so our students uncover and ignite their true potential. A four-year, private liberal arts college with roots in the Lutheran tradition, the campus has a prime location in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The campus, an 80-acre arboretum on the shore of Lake Michigan, is home to 150 scholars, 2,600 full-time students, and 200 part-time students. Carthage awards the Bachelor of Arts degree with majors in more than 40 subject areas, and the Master of Education degree. Additionally, Carthage hosts the Loyola University Chicago Master of Social Work program. The Carthage faculty comprises nearly 150 scholars, 90 percent of whom hold the doctorate or other terminal degree. Carthage was founded in 1847. Carthage boasts a long-standing commitment to educating the whole person by nourishing the intellectual, spiritual, emotional, social, and physical dimensions of students' lives.
